- Does J & J Autoville Inc. charge a processing or dealer fee?
- No. Many Virginia dealers add a processing or "dealer" fee of several hundred dollars on top of the advertised price. We do not charge one. You pay the price on the vehicle plus the state taxes, title and tag fees that go to the DMV.
- What does "wholesale prices to the public" mean?
- It means our advertised prices are set at wholesale rather than marked up to retail. We are a small family lot with no showroom, no finance department and no sales floor to pay for, so that overhead is not built into the price — and anyone can buy at it. No licence, membership or trade credential is needed.
- Are your vehicles inspected?
- Yes. Every vehicle goes out to an independent shop for inspection before it is offered for sale — the shop that checks it has no stake in selling it to you. You are also welcome to have any vehicle looked at by your own mechanic before you buy.
- Can I have a vehicle checked by my own mechanic first?
- Yes, and we encourage it. Call us at (540) 441-1669 to arrange a time to take the vehicle to the shop of your choice for a pre-purchase inspection.
- Do you offer financing?
- No. J & J Autoville Inc. does not arrange financing and has no finance department. Customers pay cash or bring their own financing from a bank or credit union. If you are pre-approved elsewhere, bring the paperwork and we will work with it — there is no finance markup on our side of the deal.
- Do you take trade-ins?
- Yes. We will appraise your vehicle whether or not you buy from us, and any equity comes straight off the price. Bring the vehicle, its title and your photo ID.
- Do I need an appointment?
- Yes — call or text (540) 441-1669 before you come out. We are a two-person family lot and both of us are often away from the office, so an appointment is how we make sure somebody is here and the vehicle you came for is pulled up front. It is usually the same day.
- What will I pay besides the advertised price?
- Only what the state charges: Virginia sales and use tax, title, tags and the DMV's processing of them. There is no dealer processing fee, documentation fee or preparation charge from us.
- Where are you located?
- 3815 Melrose Ave NW, Roanoke, VA 24017 — on Melrose Avenue NW in northwest Roanoke. We have been at the same location since 1981 and serve drivers across the Roanoke Valley, including Salem, Vinton, Cave Spring, Hollins, Rocky Mount and Christiansburg.
